No art fair is immune to the subculture of pretentious collectors and stiff dealers, not even ones as cool as Art Basel Miami Beach. With millions and millions of dollars worth of art around, things can get a little too serious sometimes. Luckily there are Instagram accounts like @fartbasel to keep us all grounded and in a playful mindset.
Created during last year's Art Basel Miami Beach, @fartbasel features photos of paintings and sculptures at the various fairs (NADA Art Fair, Design Miami/, etc.) with superimposed fart graphics near every butt or butt-like opening. The images are hilarious, and we hope that the brains behind the project apply it to the other art fairs that happen throughout the year.
