Tommy Hilfiger's latest project is turning South Beach's famous The Raleigh, which he purchased for a reported $56.6 million back in April, into a luxury hotel and members only club. Hilfiger promises to keep the original Art Deco designs that the Raleigh is known for while recapturing the luster the hotel may have lost since it opened in the 1940s.

"I am going to bring back the grandeur, the elegant feeling of relaxed luxury, that The Raleigh had when it first opened," the designer told Page Six Hilfiger is redesigning every aspect of the hotel, down to the décor in every room, plus the restaurant and spa. The hotel will become a private members club and is disbanding phones and cameras so its famous clientele can go about their business uninhibited.

Hilfiger has already trademarked The Raleigh name in other countries and is currently looking for other places, like Los Angeles, to expand to.

Stay tuned to see if the hotel ends up like his '70s-inspired Miami mansion or $80 million New York penthouse.
