This is a big week for Shayne Oliver.

In addition to making his Pitti Uomo debut in Florence, the Hood By Air founder/designer will commemorate this major milestone with a special keepsake: the label’s first photography book.

Shot by Colin Dodgson, the project is equal parts candid and eerie, as it depicts a desolate rural world that is far from HBA’s usual street environment. The British countryside backdrop as well as the 1990s Toyota provide a nice contrast to the forward-thinking garments featured in the book. But, above all, the photos are said to reflect a new chapter in the label's story.

“The idea behind the collection is that it's much more rural and it has much more to do with strong individuals, people who are creating energy in really isolated rural spaces", Oliver told Dazed Digital. "We looked at shepherds and men who are farm hands, kids that grow up on the farm but they have that angst in them that goes beyond just what they know, they have to feel this energy that there’s something more out there. That's what the energy behind this was about.”

Take a look at some of photos included in the book, which will be distributed at tonight’s presentation. Go to Pittimmagine.com to learn more about Shayne Oliver’s Pitti Uomo 87 show.
