Late last year, the iconic Bowery Graffiti Mansion (190 Bowery) in New York was sold by its owner, photographer Jay Maisel, for $55 million after his family owned the property for nearly 50 years. The former bank building is famous in NYC because of the excessive amount of graffiti that covers its exterior, graffiti that the city has ignored for decades and that Maisel himself has allowed to stay because of the city's inaction.

Plans were announced to turn the building into luxury condos following the sale, which means that not only will the graffiti be removed, but much of the interior will probably change to accommodate the new tenants. Maisel has rarely shown the inside of his 72-room home, but a company called Digital Destinations recently created the video tour above of the space, and it is amazing. Many of the old bank vault doors, open spaces, and furnishings are still there, and large portions of the space have been used as galleries for Maisel's photography.

It's sad to think of what will become of one of the coolest places in the city, but at least we got to see this before it all changes.
