This week, Kanye West showed off his art-curating skills when he assembled “Blud Rushfor the latest issue of CR Fashion Book. But what some of you may not know is that Ye has been engaging in the art world for many, many years.

Recently, his good friend and barber Ibn Jasper took to Instagram to post old video clips that feature Kanye sharing his artwork with MTV host Sway. After doing some digging, we found the original 2005 segment in which Kanye discusses several of his favorite pieces, including an anime-inspired self-portrait, a still life of a burning cigarette, and a portrait of Emmett Till.

Some of the art Kanye considers good; while others, not so much: “Someone should have killed me for how bad it was,” he says of a 1995 sketch.
