Jeremy Scott's Moschino Will Present Its First Menswear Collection in Italy as Pitti Uomo's Guest Designer

Pitti Uomo announces Moschino by Jeremy Scott as its next guest designer.

Pitti Uomo has announced Moschino as its menswear guest designer for the upcoming edition. The typically menswear-heavy tradeshow continues to make outside the box decisions for its guest designers. Streetwear favorite Hood by Air was hosted as special guest designer this January, and Marcelo Burlon was honored before that.

Moschino's runway show will mark its first menswear collection in its native Italy since Jeremy Scott took over as creative director. Scott's offering will certainly be a change of pace from the tailored suiting collections Pitti normally shows. "In Jeremy Scott's collections, we see the humor, the irreverence, the tendency to explode myths, and the manipulation of pop iconography," says Pitti Immagine CEO Raffaello Napoleone. "There is also lots of originality in his work – he seems to have a sort of special-sensor focused on our times – in the way he combines fabrics and materials, especially the finest types, because his designs are luxurious. And that is the reason behind our invitation."

We will have to wait until Pitti Uomo starts up on June 16 to see if Scott can outdo Hood by Air's spectacular showing last season.
