Swedish retailer COS commissioned New York-based art and architecture collective Snarkitecture to create an installation for Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano, also known as the Milan Furniture Fair. Daniel Arsham and Alex Mustonen were approached by COS Heads of Design Karin Gustafsson and Martin Andersson to design and build an environment that reflects the company's "clean and modernist" aesthetic and its "appreciation of clean lines, the ambiguity of transparency and the transformation of the everyday into something extraordinary."

Incorporating elements of their own unique approach to design, Snarkitecture created this cave-like installation inside of a space in Milan's Brera art district. The translucent white cave features flowing stalactites of varying lengths throughout, and modern stools for visitors to sit and experience the environment.
"The final space has a sense of calmness and wonder that we hope visitors will explore and return to," said Arsham and Mustonen in a press release. "The undulating spaces and the shifting quality of light seem to create a different experience with each visit."
The installation will be open from April 14 through April 19 during the design fair in Milan. For more about Snarkitecture and their work, click through to their website.
