New York Fashion Week: Men's Lands Cadillac as Its Official Sponsor

New York Fashion Week: Men's just landed a huge automotive sponsor.

New York Fashion Week: Men's just accomplished another huge milestone by landing its first official automotive sponsor, Cadillac, Bloomberg reports. Considering that the New York's women's collections have been unable to replace its former auto backer Mercedes-Benz, this is a huge deal.

Cadillac has signed on with Men's Fashion Week for two years and in this role the car company will create various events and provide shuttles for certain attendees. The move continues Cadillac's efforts to rejuvenate its brand and become cooler. It has previously served as a sponsor for New York Men's Day, and even hosted Public School's Fall/Winter 2015 collections at its local offices.

"[The sponsorship] should be interpreted as a clear statement of intent that we will walk with a heavy footstep in the fashion world," Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen told Bloomberg.

The addition only solidifies what looks to be an impressive debut season for New York Fashion Week: Men's. Huge names including Ralph Lauren, Tommy HilfigerRag & Bone, Public School, Billy Reid, Todd Snyder, Michael Bastian, Ovadia & Sons, Robert Geller, and Patrik Ervell are scheduled to show. While Cadillac joins already-announced sponsors Amazon, Shinola, and DreamWorks.

Men's Fashion Week kicks off in New York on July 13.
