J.Crew's New Low-Cost Brand Opens Its First Store

J.Crew Mercantile has opened in Dallas.

The first store from J.Crew's more affordable sub-brand, J.Crew Mercantile, has opened its doors in Dallas, The Dallas Morning News reports.

The new stores from J.Crew will offer the same line designed specifically for J.Crew's outlet locations. The new store in Dallas offers men's, women's, and children's clothing, as well as shoes, and accessories. The store also has a section for novelty items, like to-go cups and a set of fake mustaches.

While it was only the store's first day of operations, it was already looking to cut costs for customers. Many tables and racks already had signs on them denoting that items were discounted 30 or 40 percent, and customers had already been sent a 20 percent off coupon before the store opened. "My receipt says I saved $134," one customer told The Dallas Morning News

Shoppers appreciated the new store and even lined up for the opening, according to the local paper. Look for J.Crew Mercantile to hopefully open up more stores around the country soon.
