A new art exhibit in Chicago is creating a lot of controversial buzz, as it features a life-size replica of the Michael Brown shooting in Ferguson, Missouri.

Titled Confronting Truths: Wake Up!, the three-dimensional installation was created by a white artist named Ti-Rock Moore, who says she intended to put a spotlight on white privilege and its negative impact on the black community.

The work features the lifeless body of Michael Brown, an unarmed black 18-year-old who was fatally shot by police last year. The event sparked protests across the country, with many people claiming it was a result of institutionalized racism within the police force.

The lifeless body is surrounded by caution tape, as well as a black Statue of Liberty, and a noose hanging from a neon sign.

Moore says she hopes the exhibit will keep Brown’s memory alive, as well as help with the healing process.

Confronting Truths: Wake Up! is free and open to the public, and will be on display through Aug. 10 at the Gallery Guichard.

According to WGNTV, Brown’s mother is expected to visit the show soon.
