A retrospective of Yohji Yamamoto's designs is headed to the Live Archives museum in London, according to Dazed.
The exhibition, titled "Showspace," will feature over 60 pieces and has sourced iconic designs from throughout Yamamoto's career, like one created over two decades ago for Spring/Summer 1983. The exhibition will also include more recent designs. The pieces will be exhibited very uniquely through the use of live models. Given the designer's obsession with movement, this is a fitting way to present his clothing. Some of the clothes shown will also be on sale.
Yamamoto's clothing is often recognized as art, either through books, or the over 60 art museums his clothes have been featured in.
"Showspace" will be held at Live Archives, 81 Mare St., London E8 4RG, commencing July 31 and wrapping up Aug. 8. Head here for more information.
