Around this time last year Twitter user @fivefiths had fun with the #DuragHistoryWeek hashtag, confusing white people everywhere. This time they are back with an official week dedicated to durags. Durag History Week is a celebration dedicated to that magical cape. Durag enthusiasts on social media have taken upon themselves to share very rare and historical moments in durag culture with the rest of us. We should all be very grateful as the durag, when used properly, has been said to hold majestic powers. They have the ability to make waves in certain textures of hair, have helped Moses split the Red Sea (no bullshit, look it up.) We scrambled up a bunch of tweets reflecting on this historical piece of fabric. This list is a moment in history dedicated to Allen Iverson and his revolutionary use of the dudu. Salute a true Duragian when you see one and keep them waves on swim.
