We can only imagine the immense amount of pressure that comes with being Ralph Lauren’s son. But to also hold a key position in your father’s eponymous fashion empire? That shit has got to be nerve-racking as hell.

Fortunately, David Lauren handles his duties like a champ.

In a recent piece by The Wall Street Journal, we get an inside look at the everyday life of David, who still serves as the brand’s VP of global advertising, marketing and corporate communications following his father’s exit as CEO.

So what does a typical day for David look like? A great deal of meetings, a lot of scooter rides, and continuously coming up with ways to keep Ralph Lauren relevant in the 21st century—whether that be through smart shirts, interactive window displays, or the implementation of QR codes.

“My job is to help my father tell stories,” David told The Wall Street Journal. “My father writes through clothes."
