The Internet had a lot to say after Justin Bieber showed up to the American Music Awards in a Nirvana T-Shirt on Sunday night. Kurt Cobain fans were sure that the late singer wouldn't approve of Bieber repping his '90s band, saying that Bieber pretty much represented everything he hated.

It makes me sick to my stomach to see Justin Bieber in a Nirvana shirt. He is such trash and represent everything Kurt Cobain hated.

Justin Bieber is wearing a #Nirvana t-shirt at the #AMAs.

This just in: Kurt Cobain is rolling in his grave.

Unfortunately, we will never know how Cobain really feels about Biebs rocking the $1,500 Fear of God vintage tee, but he did get support from someone who was very close to him.

Courtney Love took to Twitter to let him know that she co-signs his outfit choice by saying, "You're cool in my book."

Bieber's stylist Karla Welch also shared in a recent interview that Bieber doesn't care if people were upset about  his shirt. "He loved it, and he loves Jerry [Lorenzo], so it was about support,” Welch said to Harper's Bazaar. “We knew it was the 20th anniversary of the Nirvana AMA's, when they won. He's a Nirvana fan."
