We already know that the world is infiltrated with fuccbois of all types. They have slowly been creeping out of their mom's basements in their baggy bomber jackets, ripped jeans and assorted Yeezy-designed sneakers, taking over our Instagram feeds with every hoodie and tee they recently purchased from Supreme. But, have we been so distracted by these male fuccbois' aggressive fashion sense that we failed to realize the fuccboi is really a gender neutral term? Have we not yet formally recognized a group of women who are single-handedly destroying individuality one #bae or #AF hashtag at a time?

A piece on Racked investigates the dilemma of the fuccboiism, the term for those of any persuasion who are squeezing the life out of "personal style."  It's been easy to overlook this evolving group personally, since women's style seems to change every time one of the Kardashians posts a new photo. But, a quick scroll through my social media proves they are out there, wearing beige leggings and an oversized Stüssy tee they got at Urban Outfitters or a crop top with mom jeans and Air Maxes. They are the perfect, analogous counterpart to the corny fuccbois we have come to know so well, but are, admittedly, still one step up from the original "basic" bitches.

As writer Mary HK Choi describes it on Racked, "It's how flat-front gauchos beg for a stacked-heel mule and a crossbody bag with a very thin strap. Or bigger culottes in fluffier materials go with shrunken varsity jackets or else really, really big varsity jackets. All with ball caps. But, please don't bend the brim! Everyone dresses artfully off-kilter, like off-duty models, from trainers with delicate, bias-cut silk dresses to mismatched earrings that indicate you have a sense of humor."

So, what does it mean now that fuccboiism has spread from men to women? Well, as the writer points out, it eliminates any chance for risk—quite simply, it's boring. I will fully admit that I am not above wearing an MA-1 jacket with sneakers, but it does feel like there is an element of inauthenticity to mindlessly adhering to trends. Women are especially lucky because we have a lot of options, meaning we have more opportunities for experimentation and finding our own personal style, but for some reason, thanks to all those highly edited Instagram posts and trends, we, too, seem to have fallen victim to the hype over Kendall Jenner's effortless looks and, especially, Kylie Jenner's Gosha Kylie. Maybe it's time to do better, ladies.
