Mr Porter is dropping a series of exclusive capsule collections to get you ready for summer. To kick things off, the online retailer has partnered with Reigning Champ and Saturdays NYC to release two batches of season essentials. More exclusive collections with Public School and Maison Kitsuné will roll out throughout May.
For the capsule with Reigning Champ, the Canadian sportswear brand was inspired by the outdoors and the terrain of the West Coast of British Columbia. The collection was designed with an active lifestyle in mind, so the high-quality warm weather essentials can easily transition from the hiking trails to the street.
Reigning Champ's use of technical fabrics is also carried through to this collection with shorts, tees, sweats, and outerwear constructed with materials such as stretch nylon, lightweight terry and polartech alpha. It also continues to offer its minimalist designs in a neutral color palette of charcoal, black, and stone. In addition to the clothing, the offerings will include a branded water bottle and towel.
Staying true to Reigning Champ's ethos, each piece in the capsule is made in Canada in the brand’s own factory.
For Saturdays NYC's range, we see the brand step away from, but not completely abandon, its strictly beachwear aesthetic. There’s the brand's solid mix of casual staples—including everything from tees to swim shorts to a hoodie—plus a selection of smart pieces, like an unstructured suit, derby shoes, and a couple of crisp button-ups.
"We have always found reference from both New York and the 60’s era of surfing, but we have also been spending a lot of time in Japan," the brand said about the inspiration behind this collection." We wanted to mix this together with the idea for the modern MR PORTER man."
Having stocked the brand since Fall/Winter 2011, Mr Porter has developed a longstanding relationship with Saturdays and has seen its impressive evolution over the years. So it’s fitting the brand would debut its expansion into casual tailoring with an exclusive capsule for the online retailer. "We have a wonderful relationship together and for the past couple years we have wanted to do something special together to share that," Saturdays said.
The 18-piece collection will also include accessories, such as a pair of sunglasses, a toiletry case, and duffle bag. So you’re sure to be covered for almost any summer occasion.
