Since launching Opening Ceremony in 2002, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have made huge strides in the fashion world. They’ve designed and rolled out their own in-house collections, opened stores across the globe, collaborated with big-name brands, and even landed gigs as Kenzo’s creative directors. So it should come as no surprise that the two have nabbed a national award for their hard work and unique vision.

According to WWD, Lim and Leon were given the 2016 Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Fashion Design. The honor is a part of a program that was launched in 2000 by the White House Millennium Council. It was created to celebrate longstanding achievement in 11 categories, including product design, architecture, corporate and institutional achievement, as well as communication design.

Lim and Leon will be honored with the other recipients on Oct 20. at the Arthur Ross Terrace and Garden at Cooper Hewitt in NYC.
