Garage Magazine has tapped Willow Smith as the star of its latest cover. The new issue hitting newsstands tomorrow (Sept. 8) combines fashion and technology to create an exclusive interactive reader experience. Smith and the magazine teamed up with Snapchat to create a filter that can only be accessed by scanning the cover through the Garage Mag app.
In addition to premiering the special Snapchat filter, the No. 11 issue marks the debut of Be Cool Be Nice—a platform dedicated to combating cyberbullying founded by songwriter Gerry DeVeaux. Smith is joined by Kendall Jenner for a spread inside the magazine in support of the social media campaign. The spread can also be scanned through the Garage Mag app to transform the models.
To access the exclusive content readers must download Snapchat and the Garage Mag app. They can then scan the new cover to see Smith with the "New Age" filter she created and use Snapchat to scan the ghost on the cover to unlock the lens to reveal their own third eye.
This cover marks the second for Willow this month. The new Chanel ambassador is also featured on the September issue of Interview magazine alongside her brother Jaden.
Garage Magazine's No. 11 issue will be available Sept. 8.
