Inspired by his father’s paintings, Levi Ponce started making murals after graduating from college. Although he didn’t receive any financial support for his work, Ponce believed it was his responsibility to help change the negative perception of his hometown, Pacoima, CA. So he kept painting.
Today, the area has vastly improved and is now known as “Mural Mile,” all thanks to Levi Ponce’s fight for better. He has been recognized by the L.A. city council, state assembly, and more for his work—although you’d never know it from Ponce, who’s as humble as they come.
