The Men of 'Moonlight' Star in New Calvin Klein Spring 2017 Campaign

The men of 'Moonlight' are featured in Calvin Klein's new Spring 2017 campaign.

Last night, Moonlightmade history at the Oscars. With Mahershala Ali taking home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, and the film's surprise (and well-deserved) Best Picture Oscar win, the cast had to have been on cloud nine, but it looks like Calvin Klein hedged their bets and truly came out on top with the announcement of their Spring 2017 underwear campaign, which stars Ali and the three actors who portrayed Chiron in Moonlight: Trevante Rhodes, Alex Hibbert, and Ashton Sanders.

The night started out innocently enough, with the Calvin Klein page highlighting how the stars of the film were decked out in Calvin Klein for the event.

This morning, though, Calvin Klein turned up the heat, releasing images from the new Spring campaign that were shot by Willy Vandeperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo in a move that's said to be "celebrating their revelatory performances in film this year."

Calvin Klein's Chief Creative Office Raf Simons says that this campaign is "an acknowledgement of remarkable actors who are revealing something important of being a man today in what they do." Pieter Mulier, Creative Director at Calvin Klein, takes it one step further, highlighting that "Since the beginning, Calvin Klein’s underwear imagery has always made big statements about masculinity; the performances of these actors in Moonlight affected us deeply and made big statements about masculinity in a different way. Somehow we wanted to bring the two together."

While Calvin Klein has used celebrities in their campaigns in the past (featuring everyone from Kendall Jenner to Justin Bieber), the timing of this campaign, in addition to getting a huge bulk of the cast of Moonlight in it? This is huge.
