When the Bisha Hotel and Residences opens in downtown Toronto next month it will have some serious flair. The upcoming space, which is due to open by the end of August, will feature 96 hotel rooms and suites - 14 of which have been designed by rocker Lenny Kravitz.

"Kravitz will bring a rocker sensibility and soulful elegance to one entire floor of the hotel," according to a press release from Bisha.

The 10,000 square foot floor at Bisha will be the first Canadian assignment for Kravitz Design. “It’s going to be plush and lush and comfortable and inspiring,” Kravitz told The Star in a phone interview back in 2011. “It’s going to be warm, it’s going to be soulful. It has to be elegant and sexy the moment you get off that elevator.”

Of course, this isn’t the first design gig for Kravitz. He founded his interior design firm back in 2003 and has since designed interiors for the Delano Hotel in South Beach, a recording studio for the Setai Resort & Residences in Miami Beach, a 47-storey tower in downtown Miami, and even designed wallpaper for Flavor Paper.

The 44-storey Bisha Hotel and Residences, which is currently still under construction, will also feature a slew of luxurious amenities, including a state of the art fitness centre, and a rooftop pool and a restaurant from celebrity chef Akira Back.
